Why Hold A Service
At a time of loss, it can be difficult to reach out to others. You may feel as though you are burdening them with your grief or that they will not be able to understand what you are going through. However, grieving is a natural and essential part of the healing process.
A funeral service gives you the opportunity to receive acknowledgement and support from your loved ones. By planning a meaningful farewell, you open yourself up to help and healing. In addition to providing comfort, a funeral can also be a way to celebrate the life of your loved one.
By sharing memories and stories, you can help keep their memory alive. Whether you choose a traditional funeral or a more personalized celebration of life, holding a service is an important step in the journey of grief.
Your First Consultation With Lavender Rose Funerals
What We’ll Accomplish
Losing a loved one is always a difficult time. Here at Lavender Rose Funerals, we want to make the process of arranging a funeral as easy and stress-free as possible. When you come in, we'll direct you into a family arrangement room. There, we will discuss the process from start to finish.
You can trust that we'll listen to your wishes for the service and take the time to learn about your loved one and your family. We'll file the official death certificate, arrange the details of the service and burial/cremation, set the viewing time (if desired), and help choose the clergy or celebrant. We'll also go over coffins, urns, flowers, newspaper notices.
Our goal is to provide you with everything you need to create a meaningful and personal tribute to your loved one.
What To Bring
As part of the funeral arrangement process, there are just a few pieces of information that you will need to provide. We will need your loved one’s full legal name, date and place of birth, last address, father’s name and occupation, mother’s full name (including maiden name) and occupation, date of marriage, spouse’s name, place of marriage, full names of children and their dates of birth.
These details are required for Births Death and Marriages, and provide them with the information they need to issue a Death Certificate following cremation/burial.
Throughout the process, we’ll be open and honest about all the costs involved, doing our very best to stay within your budget. You should also make plans for appropriate family members to sign authorisations for arrangements.
We also invite you to bring in photos, songs, and clothing that capture the personality of your loved one. These items will help us create a service that truly celebrates the life of your loved one.
Types Of Funerals
Burial Or Cremation?
If your family has not already decided upon burial or cremation, we can help you come to a decision that feels right for you. Both options have their own unique benefits, and it is important to consider your own personal preferences as well as the wishes of your loved one.
Burials allow you to lay your loved one to rest in a cemetery. This can provide a sense of peace and closure for you and your family, and also give you a permanent place to visit and reflect after the funeral. Cremations are a more affordable option that allow you to bury ashes or scatter them in a sentimental place. This can give you more flexibility in terms of where you choose to lay your loved one to rest.
Ultimately, the decision between burial and cremation is a personal one. We hope that we can help you make the best decision for you and your family.
Viewing Or No Viewing?
A viewing allows you to say goodbye in a private, personal way. Seeing your loved one in a peaceful state can help you to accept their passing and begin to heal. You may also find comfort in sharing this experience with other family members and close friends.
Holding a collective viewing can provide support and strength at this difficult time. Ultimately, the decision of whether to hold a funeral viewing is a completely personal one, and there is no right or wrong answer. What matters most is that you do what feels right for you and your family.
Personalising The Service
There are many ways to make the service unique, from choosing special readings and music to creating special keepsakes for guests. By personalising the service to reflect your loved one's unique personality, you can create an event that celebrates their life and honours their memory.
You can use photographs and other mementos to create a visual tribute to your loved one, online tribute pages, or releasing butterflies or balloons at the service. You can also choose to have service booklets, a photo slideshow or bookmarks made in their memory. Whatever you decide, remember that the most important thing is to take the time to grieve and heal.
